Sir, – It's sad to see your columnist Jacky Jones losing her touch ("The Irish are great sympathisers, but poor empathisers", Second Opinion, Health + Family, June 27th). She thinks that the Catholic Church is only "partly responsible" for the lack of empathy in Irish people.
