Sir, - Can any of your readers explain why the outlets of the Templecrone Co Operative Society in Kincasslagh and Dungloe are getting ready for Christmas? On June 1st, I was in Donegal, and both shops had full Christmas displays in their windows, with seasonal floristry, poinsettia, holly and the like, jolly exhortations to customers to have a happy season and a prosperous New Year, and in the case of Dungloe, a cornucopia of toys, tinsel and bows, with Santa himself beaming from his icy grotto.
I know that Christmas starts earlier every year, but surely this is a record! - Yours, etc.,
