Sir, – Ulster Unionist Party leader Doug Beattie is under scrutiny for producing a series of deeply offensive tweets a number of years ago.
Not to be outdone, no less than three female Sinn Féin MLAs have also had to apologise for less reported but similarly offensive Twitter usage in their past.
Could it be that Twitter is the thing that finally brings about cross-party consensus in Northern Ireland? – Yours, etc,
