Sir, - If People regards Ulster Scots as a joke, as George Gilliland claims (November 7th), may I remind them that it is specifically mentioned in the Belfast Agreement to have parity of esteem with the Irish language? I would suggest that Mr Gilliland and others read the agreement - or do they regard this as a joke as well? It is Mr Gilliland and others who are living in cloud-cuckoo land if they think they can cherry-pick the agreement. - Yours, etc.,
