A chara, – I read with interest the story on page one of your excellent newspaper that outlined the fears that universities have now apparently expressed that, due to State underfunding, there may have to be a cap imposed on the number of Irish students accepted into Irish universities in favour of far more lucrative international students (News, April 4th).
I also read with wry amusement, on page nine of the same edition, that theproposed admirable renovation of the UCD president's offices is estimated to cost €7.5 million.
I suppose juxtaposing the two stories on the same page might have been unfair and perhaps even constitute subliminal editorialising. What a difference eight pages make.
