Sir, – Conor Mooney (Letters, January 7th) might be interested to know that 14 of the 40 acute hospitals listed by the HSE contain "university" in their name. This is less than half; certainly not "almost all".
It is reserved for hospitals with connections to the medical departments of universities, where students undergo practical training. – Yours, etc,
