Sir, The illustration employed to explain the complicated mechanisms for selecting a party's nominee for US President was clear and informative ("Road to the White House", February 10th). However it contained one inaccuracy.
California is not the largest state. Although California has the largest population and obviously therefore the most voting, power, Alaska is the biggest. Ironically it is also the most thinly populated state which is probably the main reason why we don't hear many presidential hopefuls mentioning it. Yours, etc., Foylesprings, Derry BT 48, OAQ.
