Madam, - Driving through Dublin with its ever-increasing traffic congestion one cannot help noticing the marked under-utilisation of the bus lanes.

On a recent trip through several of the states on the western coast of America, we discovered the diamond lane on the motorways and highways.

Any vehicle with two or more passengers, and this includes the driver, can use this special lane.

This is one way of reducing congestion in the other lanes.
