Sir, – If, as Jacky Jones posited, "patriarchy was responsible for the, almost, demise of breastfeeding" ("What's wrong with Irish women's breasts?", August 2nd), was matriarchy responsible for making non-breastfeeding women feel guilty about their choice and/or capability, and therefore, for opening the door further for woman-blaming? It is unfair and reductionist to make direct comparisons with the animal world, or to have such a misleading sensationalist heading.
