Sir, – It is untrue to say that there are few theologians in Ireland (Opinion, July 26th).
The problem is that the more you study theology the more likely you are to ask questions. Sadly, when such questions are asked publicly one runs the risk of censure.
So, I am sure there are many frustrated theologians in Ireland, but hiding below the parapets instead of participating in healthy debate.
