Support for Fine Gael has increased, according to the latest Irish Times/Ipsos opinion poll, with support for Sinn Féin falling once again.

And the personal approval rating for Taoiseach Simon Harris has also surged since the last poll in early summer, with Sinn Féin’s Mary Lou McDonald losing support.

The poll also shows Green Party leader Roderic O’Gorman’s level of support is several percentage points lower than his predecessor Eamon Ryan.

The findings will add to the growing sense in political circles that Harris is likely to call an election in the near term.
