Labour’s Mark Wall is a first-time TD at the third time of asking, taking up the seat his father Jack vacated in 2016.
Mark Wall (54) has been involved in public life since 2009, when he was first elected to Kildare County Council. He became a senator following his unsuccessful 2020 general election campaign, representing the industrial and commercial panel.
Mr Wall’s father was elected a TD for Kildare South in the 1997 general election. Jack Wall retired prior to the 2016 general election. He was also a senator from 1993 to 1997.
Mr Wall previously worked as a quality manager for Smurfit Kappa in Ballymount in Dublin. He attended the Institute of Technology in Carlow, now South East Technological University.
Mr Wall was born and raised in Athy, where he is still based. Mr Wall is married to Michelle, and they have two sons, Cathal and Eoin.
