The effects of Storm Éowyn have hit the weekend sporting fixtures, with the meeting of Kerry and Donegal in Division One of the Allianz Football League on Sunday the most high-profile casualty.

Road conditions have prevented Jim McGuinness’s side from making the long journey to Killarney, with the CCCC meeting on Monday to decide on the refixture.

Saturday’s Division Three football meeting between Leitrim and Laois has been put back 24 hours to Sunday at 2pm due to electrical issues relating to Storm Éowyn in Ballinamore.

In hurling, the Division One A meeting of Westmeath and Laois scheduled for 2pm on Saturday has been postponed due to a frozen pitch at Cusack Park in Mullingar, while the Division Three game between Mayo and Cavan scheduled for MacHale Park on Saturday afternoon has been postponed due to damage from Storm Éowyn.

A statement from Celtic, who hold a 13-point lead over Rangers, on Saturday morning read: “Today’s scheduled Scottish Premiership match between Celtic and Dundee at Celtic Park has been called off.

“Unfortunately, due to the stadium damage sustained yesterday we have been advised that we are unable to proceed with today’s match. While clearly this is disappointing, the safety of our supporters will always be our priority.

“The rearranged fixture will take place on February 5, 2025 with a 7.45pm kick-off.”
