Rathfarnham's Betty Beirne had quite a day last Tuesday. The 32 handicapper scored a hole-in-one at the fourth, helping her team, which also included Hilary Taylor, Ann Burnett and Geraldine Barnes to secure second place in the competition. Their 55 points fell just two points shy of the winners, Teresa MacMahon, Maureen McCaw, Nora Dowdall and Brede Connolly.
