It is by popular acclaim that the Irish Times and AIB are to join forces and once again honour the outstanding players in the AIB League Division One. Unlike the last couple of years when the players that excelled on a weekly basis were selected on a team of the week, the format has now changed to a team of the month.
In keeping with tradition there will be an Irish Times/AIB team of the season who will be honoured and receive their awards at a reception. There will be seven teams of the month and these will be announced in the first week of the following month. The selection below is the October team of the month. The criterion for selection is not necessarily excellence over the month but the best performances in the respective positions in that period of time.
