RUGBY/Leinster - 29 Scottish Borders - 13:If there was a fit senior player in Leinster then the chances are he played at Donnybrook last night.

In the end, it was a facile victory but, with nothing at stake and the home side using over 30 players, the 'match' was a muted affair.

Injuries to Keith Gleeson, Paul Wallace and Malcolm O'Kelly will be of concern with the Heineken European Cup match against Montferrand this time next week. On a positive note was the performance of centre David Quinlan who had a superb match.

It was a carnage in the opening 10 minutes. First Victor Costello headed for the dressing-room to have stitches inserted in a head wound, followed by Gleeson whose torso was twisted awkwardly in a tackle. Wallace limped off after just nine minutes - Costello was the only one to return.

Leinster had to move up a gear when they trailed 13-12 in the 59th minute, but then Quinlan scored the try that restored their lead.

The rest of the match belonged to Leinster and they added further tries from Simon Keogh and Niall Breslin.
