All the leading fancies stood their ground for the Epsom Oaks on June 9th following yesterday's forfeit stage. A total of 27 fillies were confirmed for the Classic, the same total as last year and nearly double the 14 seen in 1998.

The three Irish-trained entries are the Aidan O'Brien-trained pair, Amethyst and Chiang Mai, and Dermot Weld's Theoretically.

The field does not include leading fancies Love Divine, winner of Wednesday's Victor Chandler Lupe Stakes at Goodwood, and High Walden.

The duo, trained by Henry Cecil, are expected to be supplemented for the race at a cost of £15,000 each on June 2nd

Kalypso Katie, who had High Walden back in third when winning the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes at York last week, is among the acceptors and is 3 to 1 joint-favourite with Love Divine with William Hill.

Godolphin have five entries still in the race including disappointing 1,000 Guineas second favourite Bintalreef, one-time Guineas favourite Teggiano, who has yet to race this season, and Melikah, winner of the R L Davison Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket on her debut.
