RACING NEWS: Willie Mullins was last night still anxiously waiting news of whether his Hennessy winner Be My Royal has passed a test for morphine.
"I have had no contact from anyone in the Jockey Club and it's a stressful time with all sorts of rumours flying about," he said.
At home, the Association of Irish Racehorse Owners (AIRO) has called on the Turf Club not to change the result of a race where a horse has tested positive for morphine. The association wants the Turf Club to use Rule 22.1, which allows the body to modify or suspend any other rule.
"The levels of morphine found are so low as not to have any positive or negative effect on an animal's performance," said AIRO chairman Peter McCarthy.
