The final trial prior to Ireland's opening home nations fixture against England in Banbury next month saw the Whites claim victory with a strong second half performance.

There were three surviving members from last year including Whites captain, Gavin Duffy.

The centre along with Rockwell College's Denis Leamy both look likely to retain their places while Blues outhalf, Micheal Rainey, acquitted himself well.

The Blues opened up a useful gap before the Whites came strong before the interval to lead 22-17 at the break.
