Are you a member of the GPA?

"No, but I think anyone who plays football is a member of the GAA's player group. But fair play to the GPA, it's a great thing to happen for the rest of the players in the country and it is about time things started moving forward with the times.

"Players aren't looking for pay to play, all they want is a bit of benefit. Players put in a lot of work and Galway and Kerry aren't any different . . . players in Louth and Carlow and these places put in just as much as anyone else. All in all, it is a step in the right direction but, personally, I don't put myself into those situations. I just get on with the game ahead."

"Yes. It's definitely good for players. It would be great if we had our own voice. It is not about Kerry, it is about 32 counties and about every senior footballer. There's a lot of senior footballers out there not getting what they are entitled to. That's what we are in it for, not for our own selfish means down here in Kerry."

Declan Meehan (Galway)

"No. I believe, actually, without being a member, they have done a lot of good for me . . . but when Ja (Fallon) was recruiting I hadn't got the £40 to join. If someone asked me now, I probably would."
