Arthur Moore's Tips

My nap of the week comes up quickly and that is Decoupage in the Arkle

My nap of the week comes up quickly and that is Decoupage in the Arkle. I know there have been doubts expressed about him getting up the hill but I honestly think that is a load of rubbish. He would have been a very good winner of the County Hurdle last year if Sir Talbot hadn't been there and I'm very confident about him.

He put up the most impressive performance I've seen all season when he won at Sandown in December and on that, I would have thought, he was well entitled to run in the Queen Mother Champion Chase. Decoupage is the nap.

It would be lovely to see Istabraq win a third Champion Hurdle and enter the hurdlers hall of fame, but from a betting point of view I have no intention of getting involved. There is little value and from a betting point of view, value is what I'm after.

In the first race I'm going for Rodock, who looks excellent each-way value at around 10 to 1. He has won well over the course and distance, and although he disappointed in his last race, I think that came a bit too quick off a hard race. Youlneverwalkalone looks a banker to win and I hope he does win but each way it's Rodock for me.

Star Traveller is a fresh horse who will like the good ground and had a good run around Cheltenham in the autumn. He is my each-way pick in the handicap chase; while Shannon Gale, with a clear round, looks a good bet in the Kim Muir.

I like two horses in the last race. I used to train Papo Kharisma and I think the key to him is good ground, which he will get here. I don't think he could handle the heavy during the winter. I also like the look of Martin Pipe's Font Romeu, who is by the same sire as Escartefigue. He looks like he has been put away for this and might be a sneaky one."
