Mayo SF Final: Ballina Stephenites 1-11 Crossmolina 0-12 Ballina collected their 34th county title and at the same side sprang a surprise on holders and neighbours Crossmolina in the Mayo senior football final at Knockmore on Saturday.
The game seemed to be heading for a replay with the sides tied as injury time ticked away but it was Ballina who found renewed energy, the winnings scores landed by Shane Sweeney and Patrick McHale in a final that lived up to its local derby billing.
