Drogheda Utd 0 Bohemians 1:BOHEMIANS COMPLETED a successful mini-series in Louth with a 1-0 win over Drogheda United, following on from Friday night's three points against Dundalk. Gareth McGlynn secured the win with a well-taken strike on 76 minutes.
For Brian Donnelly’s side this marks their sixth loss in a row as barring a Bray comeback they seem destined for the away spot in this season’s relegation play-off.
Drogheda lined out with Yael Garo (21) at right-back, the Spaniard recently on trial with Bohemians joined the Boynesiders last week.
Ironically the visitors took the lead through a mistake from the Drogheda debutant, a Connor Powell cross found Garo out of position and Gareth McGlynn latched onto it to race into the Drogheda box and from five yards out smashed a ball past the helpless Robert Duggan at his near post.
A lively first half saw both sides have their chances, with Glen Fitzpatrick’s close-range shot being parried by Bohs keeper Chris O’Connor before being cleared off the line by Conor Powell.
Bohemians dominated the second half and Paul Keegan should have done better than heading over from Aaron Greene’s pull back. A last-gasp chance for Drogheda saw Eric McGill swing a ball in from the right which rebounded off a Bohs defender forcing O’Connor into a fine save.
