Bohemians 2 Galway United 1: BOHEMIANS BEAT Galway at Dalymount Park last night to record their third straight win on the trot and maintain their title push.
The home side created the first chance of the game on seven minutes when Owen Heary forced the Galway goalkeeper to save low to his left following a free from outside the box.
Galway, who are bottom of the table on goal difference, had a few chances after that with Mark McCulloch taking a short pass off a free before shooting just wide of the goalkeeper's left post on nine minutes.
The Connacht side, under former Irish international Jeff Kenna, continued to press with Ken Oman making a good interception on Mark Leech as he sized up a shot from the edge of the box on the quarter hour.
With Stephen O'Donnell turning in an impressive display in the middle of the park for Bohemians they went in front three minutes before the break when Neale Fenn struck off Killian Brennan's free to record his third league goal of the season.
The addition of Glen Crowe up front in place of Jason Byrne gave Bohemians further impetus in the final third as they sought to increase their advantage.
The home side were then knocked back on their feet when off Mark McCullock's cross from the left, Mark Leech smashed the ball home from inside the box to equalise.
Crowe then missed two half chances as Bohemians attempted to regain the lead. Their third chance in the space of a minute saw Wes Charles divert Harpal Singh's first-time volley away for corner with Liam Burns converting the resultant setpiece to give Bohemians the winner with 12 minutes remaining.
