Bohemians 2 Bray Wanderers 1:FOR A LONG time at Dalymount Park on Saturday, it seemed as if events at Lansdowne Road the previous night were having something of an echo. The game was drab and completely devoid of chances which must have left the the crowd of 1,101 wondering just who would prevail in the end.

Pat Fenlon’s side did, doing just enough to fend off a late Bray siege for a 2-1 win with goals from Anto Flood and Aidan Downes.

Nine minutes into the second half Bohemians found their groove. Downes was released down the right and his run set up Flood to finish easily.

For the scorer, it was good to get back amongst the goals. “I hadn’t scored for a few weeks,” Flood said.

“It had been annoying me. Hopefully, I can get another few before the end of the season. Five or six more and I’ll be happy.”

There was no chance of anything like that number against Bray though.

Having set up Flood, Downes effectively sealed the game with a 30-yard shot on 72 minutes that skipped past Quigley to make it 2-0.

With the game seemingly fading out, Dave Webster’s head met a free-kick to make it 2-1 on 80 minutes. Thereafter, Wanderers laid siege. But Bohemians just about held strong.

“We all know what we’re capable of doing. We have the board up inside the dressingroom, taking it game by game. There’s the quarter-final of the cup too so there’s a lot to play for,” Flood added.
