Howth players and supporters face a busy time over the coming weeks, with the club still involved in the latter stages of four GUI competitions. They face Balbriggan in the Barton Cup with a place in the last eight awaiting the winners and in a local derby play next door neighbours Deer Park in the quarter-finals of the BMW Mixed foursomes. The North Dublin club are also in the semi-final of the Metropolitan Cup, where they take on Clontarf, while Greystones or Lucan will face Sutton in the other semi-final.

And to bring the total to four are the juniors who face the Island in the semi-finals of the junior foursomes with Carlow and Elm Park meeting in the opposite side of the draw. Hermitage, Castle, Balbriggan and Callan will fight out the closing stages of the Jimmy Bruen Shield in Leinster while in the Provincial Towns Cup Callan meet Baltinglass in one semi-final while Edenderry and Balbriggan will contest the other in the competition sponsored by Peter O'Brien Landscaping.
