Sligo GS recorded their seventh Connacht Schools' Junior Cup success when they defeated Garbally Ballinasloe in the final at Crowley Park, Galway yesterday.

Both schools went in scoreless at the interval as they had missed penalty opportunities.

Sligo GS took the lead in the 43rd minute when centre Ross Butler blocked the ball down and then went over for a touchdown, He was successful with the ensuing conversion.

The victors secured matters on the hour from a Butler penalty just inside the Garbally 22.
