AIL ROUND-UP:UCD ENSURED Clontarf's poor New Year form continued over the weekend. Flanker Kevin Croke rumbled over for a try on the final whistle to earn a 14-8 win and hand the league leaders their second successive defeat.
Clontarf remain top with Dolphin and Blackrock College just a couple of points behind. Dolphin earned their second spot courtesy of a 19-15 win over Blackrock at Musgrave Park.
Dolphin led 14-7 at the break when Barry Keeshan converted tries from Chris Roe and Paul Hurley, Shane Monaghan replying for the visitors. Blackrock had a better second half with Monaghan touching down for his second score.
The two bottom-placed clubs also met with Young Munster beating Terenure College 15-3 at Clifford Park. UL Bohemians saw off Dungannon 11-0, while Old Belvedere made their trip to Eaton Park a worthwhile one, beating hosts Ballymena 12-0.
Garryowen versus St Mary’s and Buccaneers’ game with Galwegians were both abandoned.
