Skerries' wing forward, Ronan Connolly, was worth his weight in gold when inspiring his side to victory in yesterday's Leinster Senior Schools Section A Cup tie at the Suttonians rugby club.

The forward was central to most of Skerries crucial scores and his presence was sorely missed when he was forced to leave the field towards the end.

Glasthule started well but could never quite come to terms with their opponents who on taking the lead never looked like relinquishing it.

Nonetheless it was Glasthule who drew first blood with out-half Brian Keegan successfully converting a Gary Harpur try after four minutes.
