CYCLING:Ryan Connor raced to a dominant victory in the Ulster road race championships in Limavady yesterday, going clear as part of a small group on the first of three ascents of the tough Cam Forest climb, reports Shane Stokes.

The difficult 20km circuit whittled down the break, and when Connor surged the final time up the climb the other riders could not follow. Matthew Ward (Usher IRC) finished three minutes and four seconds back.

Heather Wilson (Maryland Wheelers) soloed to victory ahead of Ann McFarland (East Tyrone) and Ann Paul (East Tyrone) in the women's race.

Meanwhile, Britain's Bradley Wiggins showed he is on track for next month's Tour de France by taking the prologue of the Dauphine Libere yesterday.
