KERRY SFC SEMI-FINALS:COLM COOPER'S Dr Crokes will meet Kieran Donaghy's Austin Stacks in this season's Kerry football final.
Dr Crokes made up for losing three finals in recent years to South Kerry, when they put on an explosive first-half display, inspired by the brilliant Cooper, to win 2-15 to 1-13 at the Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney, yesterday.
Crokes, who last won the championship in 2000, bombed out of traps and Brian Looney shot low to the South Kerry net inside the opening minute and then two minutes later Cooper was hauled down in the square by Stephen O'Sullivan and the Dr Crokes man dispatched the spot-kick low to the left-hand corner.
In the other semi-final, Austin Stacks defeated Dingle, 2-11 to 2-9.
This should have been more comfortable for Stacks with their midfield dominance where former Kerry All-Ireland medal winner William Kirby rolled back the years with a vintage display.
