Sigerson Cup: Cork IT 1-13, UCD 1-6Cork IT's greater potency in attack proved the main difference as UCD crashed out of the Sigerson Cup in Cork yesterday.
The Cork students led 1-6 to 0-2 at half-time, Paul Kerrigan scoring the goal after six minutes. UCD enjoyed plenty of possession, but couldn't use it properly, though John O'Loughlin was unlucky to see a shot rebound off the crossbar. Kerry's Bryan Sheehan joined Cork underage stars Colm O'Neill, Daniel Goulding and Kerrigan in scoring before substitute Matthew McKenna goaled for UCD entering the final quarter, 1-9 to 1-3.
Despite having defender Eoin Hegarty sent off for a second yellow-card offence Cork IT still ran out convincing winners.
