League of Ireland Preview:Reeling from a second successive surprise away defeat, only victory over Derry City at Turner's Cross tonight will placate Cork City ahead of the June break.
"After a good game against Bohs we were hoping for a result against (Shamrock) Rovers to bring us in to a big game against Derry," stressed striker John O'Flynn after their 2-0 loss at Tolka Park on Tuesday night. "But now we have to go back and pick ourselves up and do everything we can to get a result.
"We need a big game (tonight) and there'll be a big crowd. Hopefully, we can put this behind us and kick on. There are going to be plenty of big games coming up, so we need everything going into them."
Manager Damien Richardson has said he may make a couple of changes with Seán Kelly pushing Brian O'Callaghan, hampered by a groin problem of late, to come back into central defence likely to be one of them.
Derry, who travelled down yesterday, continue without injured left-back Seán Hargan and winger Paddy McCourt.
Caretaker manager Peter Hutton could return in central defence as he waits for fitness checks on both Ken Oman and Darren Kelly, along with midfielder Killian Brennan and striker Kevin McHugh, none of whom trained yesterday after picking up knocks in Tuesday's disappointing 1-1 home draw with Waterford United.
Defender Stephen Brennan, who came off on a stretcher having suffered a heavy knock to a knee in Monday's defeat to Bohemians, and striker Gary O'Neill (hamstring) are the leader's, St Patrick's Athletic's, chief fitness worries ahead of the visit of Galway United to Richmond Park. Neither Joseph Ndo or Stephen Paisley are likely to be risked as they recover from knee and ankle injuries respectively.
Galway manager Tony Cousins has midfielder John Lester back from suspension. Despite a slight calf strain, attacking midfielder Alan Murphy expects to be passed fit.
With none of their injured players yet available to return, central defender Graham Gartland, back from suspension, is likely to be second-placed Drogheda United's only change for bottom of the table Longford's visit to United Park.
Shay Kelly, Seán Prunty, John Martin and Robbie Martin remain out injured for Longford, leaving manager Alan Mathews to work off the same squad that succumbed to Galway on Tuesday.
Despite excellent wins over Drogheda and Cork City, Shamrock Rovers' manager Pat Scully is stressing the avoidance of complacency against Bray Wanderers, themselves buoyed by a good win midweek at Tolka Park.
Right back Ger O'Brien has joined Eric McGill and Paul Shiels on Rovers' injured list. Bray wait on injury doubts Clive Delaney, Stephen Fox, Colm Tresson and Andrei Georgescu.
In-form Waterford, looking to stretch their unbeaten run to six matches, have right-back Patrick Flynn fit again, but captain David Breen and Ray Scully are rated very doubtful starters, while Kenny Browne and Shane Harte must also prove their fitness as they host UCD.
