CAMOGIE: LAST YEAR'S beaten finalists Cork moved to within touching distance of the All-Ireland senior championship semi-finals with a 1-16 to 0-10 victory against Tipperary yesterday.

The home side scored 1-8 during the second half in Ballincollig to claim a nine-point victory, having trailed by 0-8 to 0-4 at half-time.

Rachel Moloney was the star turn for Cork as she scored 0-11, including eight frees and a 45.

Orla Cotter scored the only goal of the game after nine minutes of the second half to give Cork a 1-7 to 0-9 lead. Moloney added two points but Cork played the last 13 minutes of the game without Gemma O'Connor, who received a second yellow card.

Meanwhile, champions Wexford slumped to a second successive defeat in this year's senior championship as Jessica Gill fired Galway closer to the semi-finals.

Gill scored 1-9 as Galway ran out 1-12 to 2-4 winners at Killimor on Saturday.

Dublin had their first win of the competition on a 0-16 to 1-6 scoreline against Limerick.
