Blue Corrig's career takes another turn at Clonmel this afternoon when the classy grey has a first start over fences.

Blue Corrig, who races in the colours of the late Dick Forristal, has returned from a stint in Dubai in order to run in the second division of the Beginners' Chase and can continue the good run of his 77-year-old trainer Joe Crowley.

A 50-race career to date has resulted in seven victories for Blue Corrig, including a Listed win on the flat. Certainly he looks to have retained enough speed over hurdles to suggest a competent round of jumping today will see him right there at the finish.

The top amateur jockey Colman Sweeney could have a good day as some of Silent Oscar's placed form puts him in a different class to the opposition in the opening maiden hurdle.

Sweeney also gets the leg up on Daramas in the bumper. This one was runner-up to Glencove Marina at Thurles last time.
