Portugal yesterday called Fernando Couto into their squad to face Moldova after FIFA confirmed the banned defender could play in international friendlies.
Couto tested positive for the banned steroid nandrolone while playing for Lazio in Italy last season.
He received a 10-month worldwide ban from FIFA at the time along with Dutch internationals Edgar Davids and Frank de Boer, also for failing dope tests.
FIFA yesterday applied the same ruling to the Dutch pair and they have now been included in Holland's squad for their friendly with England next Wednesday. Celtic winger Bobby Petta has also been called up by Louis van Gaal for this game.
Bayern Munich youngster Owen Hargreaves is set to be called up for England.
