The excitement of the Bulmers Irish Senior Cup continued at the Curragh over the weekend when the host club staged a comeback to qualify for the Leinster finals at Portmarnock golf club on August 21st and 22nd. After a 4-1 win over neighbours Cill Dara, the Curragh took on Carlow - 3-2 winners over Moate - for a place in the finals.
And here David Doyle came from four down after nine holes to win on the 19th against Des Coakley. Doyle holed a 15-foot birdie putt on the first tie-hole to send Curragh through to a meeting with Portmarnock in the quarter-finals. The line-up for the quarter-finals is: Grange v Killeen; Hermitage v Co Louth; Portmarnock v Curragh; UCD v Blainroe.
