GAELIC GAMES:DONEGAL'S TOM Daly has withdrawn from the race to become the next president of the GAA. The former Ulster Council president said in a statement that he had reached his decision after considering the demands of the position in relation to his professional and personal commitments.
“Having assessed the situation fully, I have decided not to contest the election,” said Daly yesterday.
Daly’s withdrawal leaves just two men in the race to succeed Christy Cooney – Laois’s Liam O’Neill and Wexford’s Seamus Howlin.
