Women's tour: England's Laura Davies goes into tomorrow's CJ Nine Bridges Classic in South Korea hoping to clinch qualification for the end-of-season Tour Players' Championship.

The top 30 on the LPGA rankings qualify for the tournament in Florida next month, and Davies is lying in a precarious 29th spot.

"Getting into the Tour Players' event is always a season's goal," admitted the 40-year-old, who has missed the event only once in the last 15 years. "It means you've had a good season."

In fact, Davies has had a mixed year. She won the ANZ Ladies' Masters in Australia at the start of the year, and also had a second in the US. Another highlight was helping Europe win the Solheim Cup in Sweden last month.

But she has not been in contention for titles as often as she would have hoped.

"It's been a bit of a roller coaster," she admitted. "But I enjoy Asia, so I'm looking forward to this week in Korea and then next week in Japan." The three Solheim Cup Scots - Catriona Matthew, Janice Moodie and Mhairi McKay - are also in the field, as are two other Britons - Wales's Becky Morgan and England's Karen Stupples.

South Korea's Se Ri Pak defends the title and arrives on a high having finished in the top 10 in a men's event in her homeland last weekend.
