Cork maintained their unbeaten start to the NHL campaign with a comfortable victory over Derry at Swatragh. A Joe Deane goal, 13 minutes into the second half, sealed Derry's fate as Cork gained control to run out deserving winners. Deane, Jerry O'Connor, Sean McGrath and Neil Ronan scored the bulk of Cork's points tally.
