Diktat, the impressive winner of the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot last year when trained by David Loder, is set to have his first run for Godolphin in the Shergar Cup at Goodwood on Saturday, May 8th.
The four-year-old has not run since being beaten a head by Decorated Hero in the Beeswing Stakes at Newcastle last July but has been pleasing connections in Dubai over the past few months. His target is the £100,000 Dubai Sports Shergar Cup Seven.
Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford said yesterday: "The plan is to run in the Dubai Sports Shergar Cup Seven, it's the ideal race to start him off for the season. He did not race in Dubai over the winter, but he's fit and ready to go."
Godolphin's Shergar Cup team could also include the former French-trained Time Changes, who won a mile event at SaintCloud in November and is a likely runner in the EBF Shergar Cup Distaff."
