Cork Constitution 25, Dungannon 8: Inspired by man of the match Ian Murray and full back Brian Walsh, Cork Constitution made a rousing return to the top of the All-Ireland League last night after their well deserved 17-point win over the reigning champions at the city's newest stadium of light.
Played in terrible weather conditions, Constitution led 13-0 at the break, their try coming from Walsh in the 24th minute. Conor Mahony added the conversion, and a penalty from the same player - his second of the game - on the stroke of half-time left them in command.
Constitution may have changed shirts at the break but their performance remained the same. With Walsh controlling the game with his kicking and Murray starring in the front row, the home side looked very good and deserve their place at the top of the table.
Mark Bradley reduced the deficit to 10 points before tries from Adam Sherrard and John Fogarty, one of which Mahony converted, ended this game as a contest in the 70th minute (25-3).
Dungannon did score the final try of the game in the 80th minute but Nigel Brady's contribution was too little too late.
