Tyrone captain Brian Dooher is rated "very doubtful" to feature in Saturday's All-Ireland football quarter-final against Meath because of a groin problem.

Dooher seemed to have regained his best form this season, particularly in the Ulster semi-final against Donegal. He again featured for 70 minutes of the provincial final victory over Monaghan but the Tyrone medical team have struggled to diagnose and treat the current injury.

The other major concern is Stephen O'Neill who came on in the Monaghan game for Ger Cavlan after he suffered a hamstring injury but the 2005 footballer of the year was a shadow of his normal self.

O'Neill is expected to be named as a substitute because of an ongoing knee problem. Cavlan has regained full fitness along with Owen Mulligan and Cormac McGinley.

The only players not in contention are Michael McGee (recent shoulder operation) and long-term absentee Brian McGuigan. Tyrone will announce their team on Thursday.

"I was down in Portlaoise for Meath's win over Galway," said Tyrone manager Mickey Harte, "and I was very impressed by the nice mix of youth they have blended into their team."

Meanwhile, Westmeath hurlers are disappointed with yesterday's fixtures reshuffle which sees their Christy Ring Cup final against Kildare move to a 12.15pm throw-in next Sunday.

"Instead of being the curtain-raiser for the All-Ireland semi-final, which was set in stone as a fixture all year, it is now the first game on a programme of three games - and a 12.15pm throw-in makes it a very early start for supporters," said manager Seamus Qualter.

"This was done without consultation with anyone from Westmeath, and we are very annoyed. The Christy Ring Cup was set up to help the promotion of hurling in counties just below the top tier, but it has been thrown to one side this weekend."

Last year's finalists, Cork and Tipperary, will meet in the semi-final of the Gala All-Ireland senior camogie championship, while Wexford will face Galway in the other semi-final. Both games will take place on August 11th in Nowlan Park.
