The South Korean drug-testing laboratory in the Ben Johnson affair in the Seoul Olympics has been suspended by the International Olympic Committee. The laboratory in Copenhagen has also lost its IOC accreditation.

But two other centres in Asia, Bangkok and Penang, have been added to the official list, the IOC announced yesterday. The accrediting process was conducted in October and Seoul and Copenhagen failed after returning positive tests on samples that were subsequently proved to have tested negative at other IOC accredited laboratories.

The Lisbon laboratory which had been stripped of its accreditation has been reinstated.
