Druids Glen is to be the venue for the second staging of the Seve Ballesteros Trophy in April 2002. I understand that current negotiations will make it the fifth European Tour event to take place in this country that year.
The inaugural Ballesteros Trophy, scheduled for non-Ryder Cup years, was held at Sunningdale last April on the week after the US Masters.
From 1996 to 1999, Druids Glen played host to four successive stagings of the Murphy's Irish Open, which will be at Fota Island in 2001 and 2002. The WGC American Express Championship will be at Mount Juliet in 2002 when the country will also have the Smurfit European Open and, presumably, the West of Ireland Open.
