After waiting for the better part of three seasons to taste victory on the US PGA Tour, David Duval won his second consecutive title on Sunday in a sudden death play-off at the Walt Disney World Classic in Orlando, Florida.

Duval rolled in a 15-foot par putt on the first play-off hole to defeat Dan Forsman and claim the $270,000 top prize. Forsman settled for $162,000.

Duval (25), also won last week's Michelob Championship in Williamsburg, Virginia, in another play-off, defeating Duffy Waldorf and New Zealander Grant Waite.

"Things are looking up," said the player who had eight second-place finishes - two this season - before last week's victory. "I don't know what to say. I always felt like I could win golf tournaments out here."

Duval shot a two-under-par 70 at the Magnolia Course to finish at 18-under 270 for the four-day tournament, which is played on three courses. Forsman shot 69 on Sunday.

Four birdies on the back nine Sunday moved him to 19-underpar with one hole to play. But he made a bogey five on the 72nd hole, where he failed to get up and down from a greenside bunker.

Duval hit his approach into the same bunker moments later in the play-off, but this time managed to save par for the victory.

"I can't explain it," he said about his near misses of the past after becoming the first player to win his first two PGA Tour titles back-to-back since Billy Andrade in 1991. "I don't know why. I had my chances.

"I think it just boils down to finding your comfort level and realising that you don't have to play excellent golf to win a tournament. You just have to play well and smart and not make mistakes."
