GARETH ARCHER, Bristol's huge lock, wins his first cap against Scotland at Murrayfield on March 2nd as England try to solve their line-out problems. The selectors have dropped Martin Bayfield from the second row and recalled Dean Richards in place of Tim Rodber in the back row.

Archer, 6ft 6in and 18st 8lb, was 21 in December and joined Bristol from Newcastle Gosforth last season. Archer has played successfully in England's hat-trick of A team wins against Western Samoa, France and New South Wales in the last two months and appeared four times for the second team last season.

Meanwhile, the Welsh team announced yesterday for Saturday's meeting with Scotland at Cardiff showed no changes from the team that lost to England.
