Newskieren Fallon, who gave up his last three rides at Pontefract on Monday after complaining of a viral infection, bounced back with a 565 to 1 four-timer at Folkestone yesterday on Stone of Destiny, Star Entry, Impulsive Decision and Glow Forum.
After scoring on Stone Of Destiny (11-10 fav) in the opening division of the Westenhanger Maiden Auction Stakes, Fallon said: "Yesterday was a bit of a fuss over nothing. I had been wasting to do light, and it was very cold. But I am absolutely fine now."
Star Entry (6-1), came down in distance to take the Hardres Handicap. David Chapple, the winning trainer, said: "Jerry Widdows, one of the filly's joint owners, should take the credit as he decided she should come down to a mile and a furlong today. She is extremely game and tries all day."
Fallon moved on to a treble on Impulsive Decision (6-1) for Martyn Meade in the Levy Board Rating Related Maiden. He put the grey filly in front at the furlong pole and they resisted the late challenge of Kathie's Pet by half a length.
Jane Meade, representing her husband, said: "It is nice to get the best to ride for you when they are available. Kieran said that she was always travelling well and will win again."
Fallon completed his glorious foursome when scoring on Glow Forum (9-2) for Les Montague Hall in the Leeds Handicap. The mare led two furlongs out to beat Veronica Franco by half a length.
Julian Wilson, BBC TV's racing correspondent since 1966, is to quit the job at the end of the year. He is giving up the anchorman role he has held for over 32 years to concentrate on writing and racehorse management.
The departure of Wilson, aged 57, announced jointly with the BBC yesterday, is "entirely Julian's own decision".
He will fulfil his duties until the end of the year with the Coral Welsh National meeting at Chepstow on December 27th likely to be his final broadcast.
Wilson said yesterday: "It has been an exciting time, but now I have a strong desire to return to the world of the written word.
"I also look forward to expanding the scope of my racehorse agency and management through my company Seymour Bloodstock Ltd."
