Frank Warren (right) made a move this week to ensure that he cannot lose out in the highly competitive featherweight divisions. Already the promoter of Prince Naseem Hamed, the most gifted boxer and biggest crowd puller outside the heavyweights, Warren has also signed up Angel Vasquez.

Vasquez is widely regarded as the outstanding threat to Hamed's hopes of winning a unified featherweight title. Considered the best prospect in his division, Vasquez, like Hamed, is undefeated. He's had 13 knockouts in 15 fights.

The deal means that Warren can now act as promoter for both fighters, if they ever meet, decide their purses and select the venue. Could it be possible that if the fight ever got the go-ahead that the promoter could act in the best interests of both fighters? And is boxing remotely concerned?
