Gaelic Games Louth junior final: Ugly scenes marred the Louth under-20 FC final in Dundalk yesterday which saw Newtown Blues beat Cooley Kickhams 1-11 to 2-6.

A melee followed the Newtown Blues winning goal seven minutes into extra time which involved players, mentors and supporters which took several minutes to quell.

When the game eventually resumed referee Joey Moyna blew the final whistle from the kick-out.

The fracas resumed once more during which referee Moyna was the subject of a number of assaults as he attempted to make his way to the pavilion.
